Support and Development for Male Educators of Color

We empower men of color in the education field through a peer support network, skills and professional development opportunities, and educator career coaching.

Peer Support Network

A big part of our mission is fostering a robust community of male educators of color, something we do through regional cohorts as well as affinity groups.

Skills and Professional Development Opportunities

We help male educators of color nurture the skills they need to make a lasting impact, through fellowship programs, educator workshops, and community impact assemblies.

Mentorship

Seasoned male educators of color are on hand to mentor younger teachers, both through online networking and through regional community cohorts.

Addressing Financial Obstacles

While male educators of color leave the profession for many reasons, including isolation and limited professional development, finances are also a significant obstacle. Profound Gentlemen addresses financial constraints within the education profession in two ways:

The Apple Fund

The Apple Fund gives male educators of color additional financial support to cover classroom supplies, praxis test/licensure costs, and other expenses related to professional development. We award funds to three members monthly, helping propel our members forward in their teaching careers.
